AUG. 16 & 17: Basic Animal Emergency Services Training @ Wayside Waifs Humane Society (3901 Martha Truman Road, KCMO). Gain the skills to respond to emergencies and care for animals when the unthinkable happens. Come learn about animal first aid, shelter set up and response, incident command systems and more. This course trains you to be able to assist in your community. Tuition: $85 for American Humane members; $100 for non-members. Training materials provided. Certificate presented upon completion. AUG. 24: Charity Dog Wash & Flea Control. All proceeds help retired Greyhounds find loving homes through the non-profit group REGAP (Retired Greyhounds as Pets). Where: Hecker Animal Clinic (73rd & Wornall). When: 9 am – 3 pm.
