(including us) have at least one cat in the
home as well.
“That’s easy for you to say,” you might

dogs attacking and killing neighborhood
cats, or of cats drawing blood from the

LITTER BOXES vs. ANYWHERE BUT THE BOX
Much like certain people and unlike most dogs, cats tend to preferences
for where, and on what, they like to eliminate. Cats generally prefer a
loose, sandy substance, which is why they will use a litter box. When their
preferences include the laundry basket, the bed or the Persian rug, their
elimination behavior becomes a problem. Often, however, with careful
analysis of your cat’s environment, specific factors that have contributed
to the litter box problem can usually be identified and changed, so that
your cat will again use the litter box for elimination.

Weighing In

Fat…it is common in our vocabulary…Fats Domino, Minnesota Fats, “Fat Chance”, “living off the fat of the land." Unfortunately, it is common in our pets as well. According to the American Animal
Hospital Association, 50% of domestic pets are overweight.
Major advertising firms would love to introduce the latest diet craze to the pet owning public. I can see it now, “Try the new Catkins diet” or “Remember, only six grams of carbs in every mouse.”
